Karly Perez-Arevalo is a first generation Latinx American filmmaker born and raised in Los Angeles County, California. She graduated from USC's School of Cinematic Arts with a BA in Critical Analysis of Cinema in 2019 and is a MFA student in USC's Film and TV Production program with a focus on Directing.
In 2019, she was nominated for the 40th College Television Awards, an extraordinary honor recognizing her work as a producer on the short Drama titled Welcome Back. In 2020, the short Drama she produced titled Clarity was selected by Indy Shorts to screen at Heartland Film Festival. Before returning to USC for her MFA, she worked on the set of Lifetime made-for-television movies where she climbed the ranks of art department, art directing several features before starting a new path in development at Imagine Entertainment, the production company owned by renowned director Ron Howard and producer Brian Grazer.
